Scholarship Opportunities:
LSA Qualifying Competitor Scholarship: For several years, LSA has recognized the high level of commitment and dedication needed to compete in a qualifying event at the regional or sectional level. To honor such athletes, LSA aims to reimburse reimburse the entry fee paid to USFS to compete at the Eastern Great Lakes Regional Championships or the Midwestern Sectional Championships. No other fees, including but not limited to practice ice, coaching fees, or travel expenses will be reimbursed. LSA members who qualify must submit their online order confirmation to the LSA Skating Director for approval. Entry fees will be reimbursed after the event is held. LSA reserves the right to deny reimbursement for any reason, including if funds are not available or if the skater elects not to compete.
USFS Scholastic Honors Teamis a program designed to recognize high school-age U.S. Figure Skating members who have distinguished themselves both in figure skating and high school academics. Selected team members will receive a monetary scholarship. http://www.usfigureskating.org/Athletes.asp?id=341
USFS Graduating Seniors Programwas developed to recognized skaters who will be graduating from high school and have maintained their training in figure skating. USFS hopes that the schools will honor and recognize these individuals for lasting achievement in the sport of figure skating by awarding the skater the certificate that will be sent to the school from U.S. Figure Skating. To qualify for this program, the skaters must be novice level (or above) in free skating, pairs, dance, synchronized team skating or theatre on ice. A letter, along with a certificate of achievement, will be addressed to the school administrator and sent to the skater. The skater has the responsibility to deliver the letter and certificate to his/her school. http://www.usfigureskating.org/content/gradsenior.pdf
Southern Eastern Great Lakes Scholarshipsare available to any skater who qualifies for sectionals, nationals or junior nationals.
