LSA Mission Statement

Louisville Skating Academy is a non profit organization dedicated to promoting and developing the sport of figure skating in the Louisville area by encouraging an environment of good sportsmanship while providing training opportunities to meet the needs of all levels of skaters in achieving their personal goals from recreational skating to competition at national and international events.

LSA is also pleased to offer a therapeutic ice skating program for special needs athletes of all ages with mental and/or physical disabilities.

LSA’s first line of communication is its web site www.skatelouisville.org. You are invited to visit this site often for all the latest information on upcoming events, ice contracts, newsletters, Learn to Skate, Bridge, LSA Handbook, and much more. Secondly, LSA utilizes email to notify members of new web site postings, urgent issues, such as last minute schedule changes, matters of interest and routine communications. Please provide the LSA Membership Chair with your current email address. For those without email access we will attempt to contact you by phone.

Louisville Skating Academy is a not for profit, 501 c3, figure skating club that is a member of U.S. Figure Skating (USFS). U.S. Figure Skating is recognized by the International Skating Union (ISU), and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the governing body of figure skating in the United States. Since LSA is a member of U.S. Figure Skating, it directly facilitates U.S. Figure Skating programs, test sessions, sanctioned competitions and shows for its membership and abides by all U.S. Figure Skating rules. Consequently, all LSA members must also have U.S. Figure Skating membership. LSA collects annual U.S. Figure Skating registration fees along with LSA annual dues and handles the registration and transfer of fees for you.
